Who we are
Social Aid for Protection CBC works with families, community groups and local leaders to make protection practical — through rights advocacy, livelihoods and good governance.
Background & evolution
Social Aid for Protection was founded in 2019 in Rwanda as an independent company working with vulnerable households. In 2024 the organisation pivoted to a Community Benefit Company (CBC) / not-for-profit model in order to bolster advocacy and deliver direct community support.
Vision
We work towards a Rwanda where every person — regardless of income, gender or location — can reach and hold recognised development standards in their own community.
Mission
To promote sustainable development, human rights, and promoting good governance based on research, capacity building, advocacy, and unemployed projects funding.
Conducting rigorous community research and using the findings to advocate for the rights and needs of vulnerable populations.
Implementing programmes that directly benefit vulnerable populations — from household protection to community enterprise development.
Training citizens and local leaders so services, budgets and decisions stay transparent and accountable.
Funding and mentoring project proposals from unemployed individuals and community groups until they trade independently.
Every person of working age deserves a real, dignified opportunity to earn.
